Books in Progress for April
Autobiography of Mark Twain: I’ve been reading this one for months now, though I may have entirely skipped it during one or two of those months. My jaw dropped when I saw just how large the hardcover version was at Costco. Nine hundred-plus pages just doesn’t have the same impact when you see it at the bottom of the Nook screen. I’ve trudged through more than 200 pages of introductory material...

Updates to Come
I’ve barely touched this web site since I began it, using Posterous mostly as a means to the end of updating my other web sites, but now I’ve decided to move my home base here. You can find my résumé, work samples, and contact information now on this site - just check out the links in the header above. As I think of more interesting things to say, I’ll post them. For now, keep...

Even more sad that FlashForward was canceled specifically in favor of V … V may have improved the past few episodes, but FlashForward improved more in my opinion. V still has little character development in comparison to FlashForward, which has a few complex and intriguing characters we were just starting to get to know (Janis, especially). V, therefore, is definitely not a contender to fill...

New York Times review of "Cook This, Not That" →
This article shows both why Americans of ALL food-snootiness levels are so often overweight (you can, in fact, easily serve six adults with a pound of pasta and a pound and a half of meatballs if you bother to balance that rich meal with a more healthful salad) and, well, why so many folks dislike the Times. What an attitude! The writer even takes credit for the grudgingly given thumbs up for the...

“Greedy, greedy author”? Just how much do people think writers make? You know, they wouldn’t report on J.K. Rowling’s enormous income if it wasn’t exceptional for her field.
This is 100% a dog-bites-man story. Don’t waste precious newsprint until you can provide us with a report on how Americans are welcoming any price increases.
